How can something as simple as cut black paper capture the essence of a person?

That is what I do as a silhouette artist - I capture your likeness using nothing but scissors, paper, and a few minutes of time.

 

A silhouette creates a strong visual impression - simple and pure.  An iconic art form, the silhouette remains a viable way of memorializing a person’s likeness in a very subtle, yet distinct way.

 

Silhouettes have a timeless quality and evoke a feeling of nostalgia from a time pre-dating photography. There are very few traditional silhouette artists today, which makes this lost art all the more special.
